The new Health Sensing System uses upgraded optical and electrical sensors and larger, more power-efficient green LEDs to measure heart rate as frequently as every five seconds throughout the day. It also supports features including ECG, Blood Oxygen where available, sleep tracking, sleep score, sleep apnea notifications, wrist temperature sensing, irregular rhythm notifications, and advanced cycle tracking.
Powered by the S11 chip, Apple Watch Series 12 also brings Siri AI, Audio Intelligence features, a 4-core Neural Engine, and 64GB of storage. Its Always-On Retina display reaches up to 2000 nits, while aluminum models now feature Ceramic Shield 2, which Apple says is 60% tougher than the Ion-X glass used on previous aluminum models.
Series 12 delivers up to 24 hours of normal battery life and up to 38 hours in Low Power Mode. Fast charging can provide up to 12 hours of normal use from around 15 minutes of charging, with up to 80% charge in about 30 minutes.
Available in 42mm and 46mm sizes, Apple Watch Series 12 comes in a range of aluminum, titanium, and ceramic finishes, with multiple band options to suit different styles and activities. It is also rated WR50 for water resistance and IP6X for dust resistance.
