M4 Chip
The M4 iMac is equipped with up to a 10-core GPU and a 10-core CPU (four cores for performance and six for efficiency), making it up to 1.7x faster in CPU performance and 2.1x faster for GPU tasks compared to the M1 iMac. It has a Neural Engine that is over 3x faster, with 16 GB as the new standard for RAM that’s expandable to 32 GB.
Gamers see up to 2x higher frame rates, and content creators get over double the editing speed in Adobe apps. It’s up to 4.5x faster than the latest Intel 24-inch all-in-one PC and 6x faster than previous Intel iMacs.
Apple Intelligence
Apple Intelligence is the name for Apple’s AI enhancements. Launching with macOS Sequoia 15.1, it includes Writing Tools to help you rewrite and summarize text. The new Siri can handle spoken and typed commands and can assist with answering questions about Mac products.
In a future update, ChatGPT will also be integrated into those tools. Apple Intelligence will also include Image Playground for creating images and Genmoji for making emojis. Apple Intelligence protects your privacy with on-device processing and Private Cloud Compute. It also provides free access to ChatGPT without an account and obscures your IP address for extra privacy.
Nano-Texture Display
This is the first iMac with a nano-texture glass option. Designed to lower reflections and glare, this optional add-on for the 24-inch 4.5K Retina display gives you some flexibility no matter the lighting conditions.
12MP Center Stage Camera
The M4 iMac has a new 12MP Center Stage camera. It supports Desk View, which allows apps like FaceTime to show your face and desk simultaneously, and Center Stage to keep you centered on the call. The system includes three studio-quality mics with beamforming and a six-speaker sound system.
Connectivity
The M4 iMac includes four Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports that support up to two 6K external displays and speeds of up to 40 Gb/s. It also ships with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
